                                               Visita Técnica Perú

From June 27th to 29th, a program of technical meetings took place in various venues in the city of Madrid, coordinated by staff from the Deputy Directorate General of Internationalization. This program was aimed at a delegation of mayors, officials, and former mayors from Peru and Ecuador who traveled to Spain to attend the "International Training Course on Fundraising for Projects with Resources from International Cooperation."

During the three-day program, participants from municipalities in the metropolitan areas of Lima and Quito had the opportunity to firsthand experience different aspects. They visited a cleaning canton in Madrid, where they learned about street cleaning processes through the presence of Begoña Zumeta, Head of the Public Spaces Cleaning Service. Following that, they visited the Recycling Center of the Arganzuela District, where Lydia Navarro, Deputy Director General of Waste Collection, summarized the basic lines of action regarding household waste recycling. Additionally, they had the chance to visit Madrid Río, accompanied by its director, Nieves Vicente, to learn about its main facilities. They were also briefed on the main activities of the Madrid Municipal Police during a visit led by Pablo Enrique Rodríguez, Director General of the Madrid Municipal Police, along with Maria Elena González, Technical Advisor of the Directorate General of the Municipal Police, and Oskar de Santos, Chief Superintendent of the Municipal Police Corps. Since the latter service is being implemented in some Peruvian localities, they showed great interest and were very impressed by the level of our facilities and services.
