MADRID IS INTERNATIONAL

The Delegate Area of Internationalization and Cooperation, Mr Santiago Saura, presented last July 14, together with the Mayoress of Bogota and the Representative of the European Union in Colombia, the Avantia project, an acronym that stands for "Advancing towards a transport for equality and the environment", which seeks more efficient and sustainable mobility and better public health through the improvement of air quality.

The Metropolis network coordinates this project funded by the European Union, in which the Barcelona Institute for Global Health also participates. At the presentation, the speakers shared views and perspectives on the future actions of the project during different events, while technical meetings were held throughout the week; thanks to the presence in Colombia of representatives of the Municipal Transport Company of Madrid, which also continues to collaborate with TransMilenio, its counterpart in Bogota. All of this in order to advance the three axes of the project: sustainable mobility, equality in transport, and citizen participation.
